About Us
Our Mission:
The Lebo Legacy Games, a bocce tournament, is an exciting school event that is designed to become a beloved tradition for the school. This tradition is made to create a lasting legacy for our students and staff while fostering a sense of inclusivity and fun within our school community.
What had started as an idea at Special Olympics: Unified Champion Schools Summit in October of 2022, has now become a student-led school wide event. The primary goal for this event is to not only raise awareness for Lebo Stars, but to create a genuine and lasting connection between the entire school and the wonderful students in Lebo Stars and the ABA room with Mrs. Nass. This event encases a multitude of different clubs and organizations throughout the school to make a memorable day of making new friends. We hope to achieve unity and inclusion with this event, breaking down barriers and bringing people together. Regardless of background or abilities, every individual deserves the chance to show their true selves and connect with others. It is a celebration of diversity and a testament to the positive impact we can have when we work together towards a common goal.

Last Year
Dottie Pieklik and Kat Walters took on the Lebo Legacy Games in its second year. They grew participation from 280 students to 500+ students. During the event, they were featured on KDKA Kidsburgh to promote the mission of the event. The final game was an epic battle between a team of seniors versus a team of freshman. In perfect keeping with the spirit of the event, the freshman prevaled. Teams created their own uniforms with a sense humor and fun, along with unique team names that showcased the teams personality. They also introduced a teacher bracket that took place the week leading up to the Games. The winning team (social studies teachers) got the opportunity to play in the student bracket the day of. The Games were a huge success!
